The Delaware General Health District is recommending that dog owners cover their animals’ anuses in public to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“While we are still learning about the virus and have few facts to share at this time, we feel it is wise to cover up as many nasty little holes as possible, especially ones that poop in front of strangers outdoors,” said Delaware County Health Commissioner Lisa Hissteria. “At this time, we are recommending that all canine anuses be covered while in public. Stickers are acceptable, but if you can put a mask on and stick your head up there to clog the hole entirely, that would provide the most protection.”
Face masks and pet butt covers can be picked up at the health department’s downtown location free of charge while supplies last.
When will the face masks and stickers be available? I went to the Health Department but they didn’t know what I was talking about. Thanks.
