The families of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims are suing Budweiser, claiming that the beer’s advertising contributed to the serial killer’s alcoholism and, thus, his heinous crimes.
The lawsuit, filed against Budweiser’s parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV, comes in the wake of Netflix’s new true crime drama “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” in which the famous beer brand is shown as Dahmer’s beverage of choice.
“Budweiser’s brand is prominent in the Netflix show for a reason. They were essentially co-conspirators with Jeffrey Dahmer, lubricating his mind to kill, rape, and cannibalize young men,” said Dominic Laminchi, a lawyer for the plaintiffs. “No beer is as synonymous with perversion as Budweiser, and their recent depiction on Netflix proves that they revel in it. They are profiting off of crimes that they are responsible for. It is time they pay up.”
According to Dr. Samuel Adams, a professor of Behavioral Beer Science at Boston University, Budweiser has indeed been scientifically proven to be the beer of choice for serial killers, rapists, and pedophiles.
“In one study, we asked a group of men what they would prefer masturbating to – pornstar Mia Khalifa eating a hot dog or a video of a mutilated cat corpse being thrown from a building and bouncing off the sidewalk. Men who chose the dead cat video were labeled as perverts. We then surveyed which beer the men preferred to drink before masturbating. 90% of the men in the perverted group chose Budweiser,” Dr. Adams explained. “Men in the other group largely preferred PBR or Boston Lager. Studies like this are numerous. Budweiser is consistently linked with young men who struggle to be good boys.”
Legal expert John Stevens believes that Budweiser may face an uphill battle defending itself against the lawsuit.
“Imagine the erection Jeffrey Dahmer got after he snuggled up to a naked dead body. Now imagine that erection was a beer can. Which can did you envision?” Stevens said. “It’s like the old thought experiment, ‘if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?’ but instead it is, ‘if Jeffrey Dahmer wanted to slaughter gay men and eat their organs but needed to drink beer first, would that beer always be Budweiser?’ Unfortunately, I think the answer to that question is a resounding yes for many jurors.”
This is not the first time that Budweiser has been accused of playing a role in fueling alcohol-related crimes. In 1988, the mother of an alcoholic tennis prodigy who killed one of his competitors by shoving tennis balls in his anus filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that its advertising was responsible for her son’s addiction. However, the case was ultimately dismissed.
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages. It is unclear whether the families will succeed in their suit against Budweiser. Still, many believe this could set a precedent for other companies whose products have been associated with criminals.
Thanks Ricardo, great article! I dont see in which way they can hold budweiser accountable.Series is only trying to reflect reality of past events Cheers from http://www.misterpaton.com
That’s like blaming the gun for the murder.
Just sounds like slander against the Budweiser company
Complete bull! This happened years and years ago. Families need to forget about getting more money.
So if dahmer used a Stanley saw why aren’t they going after Stanley? It’s completely bull crap. I drink Budweiser. I have none of those symptoms they described. The doctor is probably joe Biden doctor and the lawyer clearly is a crackhead
Please clarify. What is, “Joe Biden doctor”
If that’s the case we need to sue allot of people. Jeffrey’s MAIN choice in beer was PBR and Miller High Life he also drank Weiser but not the way he did those two, we also need to go ahead and sue the directors of all three exorcist movies to right? This is ridiculous. Also the survey of Mia Khalifa and the Cat corpse shows who’s the real sicko, how do you even come up with a question like that lmao.
Correlation doesn’t equal causation. Case dismissed.
